On September 28, 2018, 2 women may have saved our democracy.
That these 2 women were in the hallway when Senator Jeff Flake was getting ready to have the doors close on a Senators-Only elevator and that a camera crew was present may have been the intervention of fate or just fortuitous but those were the facts and there the 3 of them were. Perhaps if it were any other senator, the results may have been different. But it was Senator Flake and these 2 women, recorded for all time by the cameras.
Democracy requires intelligence, thoughtfulness… and participation.
Nearly two and a half centuries later, perhaps 2 other women helped us keep our democracy.
Democracy also requires vigilance.
